Obituary

In November, 1952 there was a second son born to Charles Alexander Fisher Sr. and Lillian Fisher (deceased) who they named Anthony Charles Fisher.

Tony, as he was affectionately known by all, was a charming boy and like all boys loved to shoot marbles and play in the yard. Tony grew up between Free Town Lane where his grandparents Alijah and Clara Rolle lived and his Aunt Lillian Burnside whom he shared a bed with and Kemp Road where his parents and siblings lived.

Like most siblings Tony was always the one in the fight and had to be scolded by his big sister Laurel.

Tony attended Shirley Primary and Eastern Senior School. Unsatisfied with his education level Tony enrolled In the Bahamas Technical College (Now known as BTVT), where he studied aircraft mechanics. After achieving his certificate, Tony was then hired at Bahamas Air as a aircraft mechanic.

Tony taught himself how to play the guitar and thanks to his grandfather Alijah Rolle and Carl Rogers he was able to perfect it. He then left Bahamas Air and followed his musical heart into the music world. Tony Played with various groups and places, like The Mighty Makers Band, The Munnings Brothers and Hutch. He played at the Central Highway on Wulff Road, a night club called SIN, The Coyaba Room on Paradise Island, The Might Makers Sr. with Cedric Munnings, Al Collie and The V.I.Ps at The Palace, The Buccaneer, Nassau Beach Hotel at the BBQ Spot and Sandals Resort Bahamas for fifteen years with the V.I.Ps. He also played in places like Chicago IL, Germany and New Orleans.

An avid tennis player. Tony played on Paradise Island courts for years, then moved to Winton Gym Tennis Club where he played basically every day and was preparing for an upcoming tournament with his son Devlin.

If you just met Tony, you would soon know him well, Tony had a million dollar smile for everyone he met.
