On August 12th, 1945, a bouncing baby boy was born to proud parents John Williams and Jenny Archer (both
deceased). He was given the name Anthony Michael Williams. He was affectionately called 'Tony' or 'Pux' by close
friends and family.
Anthony went to Eastern Preparatory, Eastern Senior School and St. Augustines College. Because of his many years
in tourism and hospitality, he also studied different aspects of this industry such as food and beverage control (Lowes
Hotel); Grand Transportation control (Ambassador Beach and Britannia Beach Hotel); Property Management and sites
(Inter-Coastal Realty Sales and Management).
Anthony was always a hard worker and throughout his life he spent it making a difference and impacting the lives
of many that he would have come in contact with. His employment history was as manager of various clubs such as
Junkanoo Night Club, Freeport; Boom Boom Room, Nassau; and the Pink Pussy Cat, Nassau. He worked for many
years at Bahama Blenders as a Retail Store Manager. He was a Controller at Main House Investments, Nassau and an
Investigator at E. Davison Roberts, Freeport Office. He was a Taxi Driver for many years taking over the business from
his father, which he loved and worked feverishly in trying to make it better for other taxi drivers. There was never a time
that he would not give a helping hand when needed once he was able.
On April 26th, 1979, he married Edith Major and from this union had a beautiful daughter, Clarissa Jenny Williams
(deceased). Anthony spent most of his life fighting for the rights of others, trying to make a difference so that they would
not have to work as hard as he did. He was instrumental in fighting for the taxi drivers rights. He was a founding member
of Public Service Drivers' Union. Being an outspoken and candid person Anthony touched the hearts of many. He was
willing to give up time and help persons that needed any assistance once he was able.
On December 22, 2013, Anthony slipped away from this world peacefully to his eternal home of painless rest.
