Obituary

In Life is a time for everything under the sun. A time to be born and a time to die, so was it with our Father, Brother, Uncle and Friend.

In 1945 the 9th day of June a robust baby boy, was born in Deep Creek Pure Gold, Andros to Viola Duncombe and Churtum Dames. This beautiful boy they named Charles Edward Dames.
He attended Deep Creek public school where he received his basic education then onto Prince Williams where he received his secondary education.
He then went on to the University of West Indies Trinidad for continuation of studies under PAHO,graduating from the Public Health in Jamaica.
Always being studious and passionate about his education Charles furthered his education, by attending Florida Memorial College where he received a BS in Business Administration and then on to University of Miami for further studies in Finance.
Charles worked for the Department of Statistics and then he went into Banking at CitiBank before he started Studio of Draperies with his beautiful wife Marina Dames.
Charles and Marina where married on February 28th 1970 and produced three boys DeVaughn, Chavron, and Charles Dames Jr.
Charles was very good with his hands and with people. As you walked into his place of business on Wulff Road, just by the mere hearing of your voice, even though his sight was impaired he was able to make you feel warm and welcoming with love and a care beyond the simple charter of the normal greetings.
Charles devoted his time to his family, his business, a dedicated Church member of Temple Baptist Church, and he assisted numerous individuals long there walks of life, love and freedom.
Charles was always tuned in prayer and when it was time for him to depart with his family present, he said "don't cry for me for i am walking through the door to heaven." On the evening of April 2nd 2012, approx 2:30pm he quietly slipped from time to eternity with his loving family at his bedside. Sleep on Dad and take your rest, for love but Jesus loves you best.
