Cleomi Huyler Rose was born in the settlement of Staniard Creek, Andros on the 9th Nov, 1937. She attended The All Age School in her settlement, and later became a teacher. Wishing to pursue other avenues, Cleomi migrated to Nassau, where she was employed with Mr. Percy Munnings as his personal secretary up to the time of his death.

Miss Huyler, Clee, Me Me as she was affectionately called by her close relatives and friends, met and married Mr. Patwell Rose. This union was blessed with one son, both father and son predeceased her.

Cleomi was a devoted member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, most of her adult life but later joined the Living Word Church God, where she remained a faithful member until her death.

Cleomi loved children and was always surrounded by them. She became mother to numerous children.

It was after rising at about 5:00a.m and asking for her beloved great grandson Michael, she retired back to bed where she died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday August 4th, 2013.
