Obituary

On the 14th day of May at 1:50 pm in the afternoon a beautiful bouncing eleven pounds baby girl was born to Sabrina Woodside and Mervyn Fynes Jr . at the Princess Margret Hospital.
Immediately she was named Dajonnea Esther , upon arrival at home from hospital she was placed in the arms of her Great Grandfather (deceased) "Bimmy" as he was affectionately called, he looked at her with tears in his eyes and smiled she must have known that he would love her until he was called home she looked up him and smiled. Trying to pronounce her name was difficult for him so Bimmy decided he would call her "Dassimae" which was later shorten to "Dajji" which stayed with her.
Dajonnea was just six weeks old when Sabrina was asked by her Grand Parents "Grammy and Bimmy" to relocate to Freeport where they could be closer to their great grand children. Sabrina accepted the invitation and relocated to Freeport with her five children. At the tender age of five and being the last of her mother's children, Dajonnea started her Education at Walter Parker primary school. In 2002 after being in Freeport for six years Sabrina returned back home to Nassau where Dajonnea continued her education at E.P. Roberts Primary, C. H. Reeves Jr. High, R. M. Bailey Senior High School, and PACE School for Girls, Dajonnea studied Cosmetology where she mastered it in her own right.
Dajonnea from the day she born was always a happy and cheerful child, she just loved to smile. But oh she just had a stubborn streak a will of her own that caused her and Sabrina to lock horns. Mervyn use to say... "boy you just like your ma." Dajonnea gave birth to her Son Dajon, this broke her mother's heart, but through it all Dajonnea with her son was determined to make it and seeing her determination Sabrina stood by her side. Dajon is a joy, a loving reminder of his mom Dajonnea.
After Dajon was born, Dajonnea adopted another set of parents, Dajon's Grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Ezra and Annamae Neilly, who loved her as she was their own. Back on her feet Dajonnea made up her mind that she would find meaningful employment to take care of her son Dajon. She was determined to make it, her mindset was that no one would have to be burden with having to take care of her and her son "Dajon", she would do that, taking care of her son and herself was her job, and that she did.
Dajonnea's driving force was her son Dajon, they were inseparable. She loved him and he loved her. When he saw her, his little face lit up, they shared the same bright beautiful smile and the same walk, they both were parrot-toed. I would just laugh as I watched the two of them walk together. Dajonnea didn't treat Dajon as her son, but as a baby brother, she would talk to him like he was an adult and he would look back at her like… "do you realize that am a baby". At first it was difficult for her to gain employment because of her age, but Dajonnea was determined, when she dressed she looked very matured. She was hired part-time at a shoes store, then a clothing store, then at a sporting lounge as a waitress, then as a waitress at The Corner Motel. She was there for two years until they closed their doors. After the Corner Motel closed she was determined to find other employment, almost every day she would go out looking, being at home was driving her crazy. She was home for about two months, and in April of 2015, she was employed at the Brick House Restaurant as a waitress, until her mother received that tragic phone call that no parent would want to receive, on the morning of Saturday June 20th 2015 that her baby girl was tragically killed. Dajonnea would be sadly and greatly missed.
