Funeral Service Announcement

Funeral service for Deacon Othland Anthony Strachan, age 70, a resident of #162 Knotts Boulevard, Freeport Grand Bahama and formerly of Rolle Town Exuma Bahamas, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday January 17, 2026, at Jubilee Cathedral, Cathedral Boulevard, Freeport Grand Bahama. Officiating will be Bishop Godfrey Williams, assisted by other Ministers of the Gospel. Cremation will follow.

Othland was predeceased by his parents: George and Leah Strachan; sisters: Rosalind Morley, Elva Strachan and Rev. Ismae Davis.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years: Elder Dr. Cheryl Colleen Strachan; Siblings and their families: Godfrey and Sheila Strachan, Wilton and Marion Strachan, Lincoln (Heather) Strachan, Edsel and Arlene Strachan, Pastor A. Alan and Ruby (Ginger) Strachan, Ms. Marva Knowles, Zilpha (Freda) and Randy Musgrove, Japheth and Lillian Strachan, Willard Strachan, Eric (Idell) Strachan, Norma (Marvin) Major, Heather "Hedda" Armbrister; In-laws and their families: Tammy and Julian Butler, Jan and Rickardo Miller, Carl and Daphne Adderley, Laura Smith and family, The Entire Gwendolyn and Vincent Thompson Family, The Entire Garth and Mary Wells Family, Sydney (Keva) Adderley and Family, The Entire Willis Hart Family, The Entire Garth (Mary) Wells Family and a host of relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends may pay their respects at Yager Funeral Home and Crematorium Ltd., Queens Highway, Freeport Grand Bahama, on Friday 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
