A Time to be Born

It was the 28th of July 1965 when the proud parents Judy Nancy Bethell (deceased) and Sidney McCartney gave birth to a beautiful baby girl whom they names Deborah Sally Bethell, better known as Debbie. This was Judy's first born of four kids.

A time to learn
Deborah received her early education at Ridgland Primary School from 1972- 1978. She then spent three years at S.C.McPherson Junior High School, terminating her high school education at A.F. Adderley Senior High School graduating in 1984. Debbie then continued her education at the College of The Bahamas pursing Accounts, as well as, typing classes at Toya's Typing School.

A Time To Work

Despite Deborah's inability to stand on her feet for long periods of time, that never stopped her! She was determined to work. She first started working along with her Aunty Jacki as Bethell's Drug Store on East Street, then moved onto the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Affairs. After a few years of gainful employment, she suffered an accident at work. She was injured as a result of a slip and fall at work and as such was placed on disability.

A time to Increase
In 1990 Deborah defied all odds. She gambled with her life, went against doctors' orders whom had told her if she had a child her life would be threatened. However, none of this stopped her, her mind was made up! On the 6th of September 1990 Deborah gave birth to a beautiful bouncing baby girl whom she named Charllote Bethell. Charllote was Deborah's world! She was her heart-string, her shadow, wherever Deborah went Charllote was there. Deborah was filled with love and continued to build her family tree. She adopted a beautiful baby girl named Angelique, Debbie called her, her Angel and she loved her dearly. Just when everything seemed to be going good for Debbie there was a struck of bad luck. Charllote began to complain of a massive headache, and in 2013 at the age of 22, Charllote passed away. Charllote's untimely passing affect Debbie deeply. She was never the same, as her heart-string, her shadow, her world, was now dead.

A time to Die

Throughout Deborah's life she was challenged with physical disabilities and constant pains that plagued her. Though constantly in and out of the hospital, however, she never stayed in prolonged lengths of time. In January of 2015 Deborah complained of pain on the right side of her waist. Though, she had suffered many pains in the past, this time was different. She stayed in the hospital a few weeks requiring special attention. After weeks had passed, and several tests, Doctors confirmed that she had a fast spreading stomach cancer. Deborah fought with all of her life and on the 13th June 2015 she went home to meet her Lord and Savior.
