A TIME TO BORN
On the 1st July, 1956 on the island of New Providence, a handsome baby boy was born to the proud parents of Merl Nemore Duncombe and Eugene Nemore. They named him Derick Eugene Nemore. He was the first born of this union.
A TIME TO LEARN
From the time of Derick's birth it was realized that Derick was an exceptional child. He was an avid Reader and loved to study the Royal Readers. He was educated at St. Augustine High School and was the first in the family to go abroad for formal College Training. This allowed Derick to become a book-Keeper/Accountant. Blessed with these skills, he was able to find employment at various institutions throughout New Providence. After a serious car accident in 1982, which almost left him disabled, Derick and his beloved mother Merl moved to Long Bay Cays, South Andros. While at Andros, again Derick sought employment with 'Emerald Palms' by the Sea where he worked tirelessly for many years.
Derick attended St. Joseph Catholic School and later Prince Williams. After receiving a scholarship, he then went to St. Augustine High School where he excelled academically. Derick later received training form other institutions locally and abroad as he sought opportunities to enhance his personal knowledge.
A TIME TO WORK
Derick first was employed at the Guardian News Papers and then City Bank; and a number of other private institution. He diligently sought and secured employment; and as he excelled at book-keeping, he was well sought after. Derick was said to work and served with dignity and pride.
A TIME TO SHARE/LOVE
Derick was blessed with loving parents Mother Merl Nemore and Eugene Nemore who never give up on him. God blessed him with two sons Darius and Reno.
A TIME TO SERVE GOD
Although Derick was not perfect he was a man who was quiet disposition and man who loved the Lord. He accepted the Lord from a child, although he struggled back and forth. In 2003, after Derick and Mother Merl relocated back to Nassau, they began to worship at the Lively Stone Church of God at Knowles Drive. He formerly served as a Bus Driver and then in the Ministry of Helps up to the time of his death. He was a Choir member and a Sunday school student. Derick loved his Pastor and church family and could always be counted upon to assist the Crusade with his church. Every other year, he traveled to St. Louis Missouri USA to attend the 'Old Time Power Crusade with his church. In fact, a day before his untimely demise he could have been seen lifting items around the church in preparation for Crusade 2014. As God would have it, he enjoyed catering to the needs of others and talking to people about life.
A TIME TO ENJOY LIFE
Derick was always an easy going, kind, loving, affectionate person. He was very much family oriented. He would spend hours talking to his family, neighbors' and friends. He was never too busy to listen or offer sound advice. In fact, he often used very opportunity to impact knowledge where he could. He was an avid sports fan. He watched wrestling, boxing, basketball, volleyball, tennis, and golf faithfully. Moreover, Derick enjoyed music, in particular, Gospel Music. On some days he could be found just playing music. Above all, Derick loved to travel with his church family on conferences. Indeed he was faithful to his mother up to the time of his death.
A TIME TO DIE
On Wednesday 5th February 2014, during the early evening, Derick must have realized that he was about to be called from time to eternity. While on the way dropping his mother to church Derick said to her, "Thank you mom for all you have done for me he said God Bless you!" "He then told his mother that she would have to catch a ride Back home because he was not feeling well." After church, he said to his mom, "I prayed and I never prayed like this before." He said that he ask the Lord to save him and that he was not going back out there no more. His beloved Mother Merl prayed and anointed him with olive oil as he complained of a pain on the right side of his stomach. He appeared unsettled, moving back and forward between his bedroom and his mother. After he took some Alieve, he went into his room to rest. It was during the wee hours of the morning that Derick quietly passed from time to eternity. He was found by his mother with his two hands crossed over his chest as if he was praying. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends especially Mother Merl Nemore!
