Obituary

"The days of our years are threescore and ten,
and if by reason of strength labour and sorrow,
for it is soon cut off, we fly away."


The joy of parenthood was wonderfully experience on the afternoon of May 27th, 1954 by Richard and Delores Cartwright (both deceased) of Clarence Town, Long Island. Being the fourth child of seven she was given the name Dorothy Renee Cartwright called "Nae" by love ones.
Renee began her early education at St. Joseph Catholic School. Upon graduation this striving young lady ventured to Grand Bahama where she was employed as a private House Keeper in Lyford Cay. Renee always believed in spreading her wings, she then seek employment at Evans Cleaners. Possesing excellent leadership skills and capability, she then became the manager of a Flair for Hair beauty salon where she worked until her steps were weakend.
"Nana" as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren and others was the life of the party at family gatherings. She loved to dance and tell old time stories. She was never short on words; she always told you what was on her mind with no regrets. As the years passed "Nae" was diagnosed with diabetes. In 2009 her health began to deteriorate. Renee began to receive dialysis three times weekly but that never hindered her faith in God! January 14th she was re-admitted to hospital where she spent a month. After being released she took ill again and was re-admitted to hospital. Nana quietly slipped away at 3:26a.m. on Saturday morning from time into eternity. She has fought a good fight, she has finish her course. Praise the Lord she's now Free!!
