Funeral service for Eugene Nelson Bonamy, age 75, a resident of Rutland Avenue, South Beach Estates, Nassau Bahamas and formerly of Arthur's Town, Cat Island Bahamas, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday August 11, 2025, at New Destiny Baptist Cathedral, Gladstone Road. Officiating will be Bishop Delton D. Fernander, assisted by other Ministers of the Gospel. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens & Mausoleums.
Eugene was predeceased by his wife: Eleanor Dames Bonamy; sisters: Rosabel and Estelle, and brothers: John Eris, Talmage, Prince Albert, Bernard "B.K." (Former Commissioner of Police), and Melvin.
He is survived by his children: Alcindor (Sunita) Bonamy, Lauria Bonamy, Nicole (Adeleke) Aromolaran, Zanda Bonamy; grandchildren: Joenathan Miller, Amauri Bonamy, Rishan Rahming, Alexia Laing, Zuri Bonamy, Daneja Amann, Daniel Amann; great grandchildren: Jordyn, Jaiden, Oatman Jr., and Nakaya; sisters: Delrona Higgins, Veronica Ferguson-Woodside, Anne Robinson; nieces: Isadora, Daria (Timothy) Bain, Ebony, Sharon, Debra, Antionette, Gilliane, Jacklyn Patrice, Symmonetta Patrice, Shirley, Daphne, Kendra, Kerry, Clover, Kaylene, Candida, Jessie Mae, Agatha, Wendy, Jennifer, Patricia, and Cyrelle; nephews: John Jr. (Yolanda), Gregory (Sylvia), Steve (Tanya), Dwight (Vonetta), Reginald, Bernard, Gaetano "Al" (Therese), Ian (Wanda Lee), Bernard "B.K." Relatives and friends may pay their respects at Cedar Crest Funeral Home and Crematorium Ltd., Robinson and Baillou Hill Roads on Sunday from 3:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
