Fredericka Louise Cartwright was born in the settlement of the Bight, Long Island on February 10th, 1920. Freddie, as she was affectionately called, was educated at Grays All Age School. At the age of 14 she moved to Nassau to assist her sister Erma with her children.

Freddie pursued a career as a nanny where she remained until the time of her retirement. After her retirement she moved back to Long Island to be with her daughter where she spent quality time with her grandchildren while doting on her great and great-great grandchildren and the children of the Salt Pond community. Freddie was an elegant, stylish and graceful lady. She enjoyed travelling, watching western movies and game shows, straw work and spending time with her family and friends.

On December 5th, 2013 her health began to deteriorate and she returned to Nassau for care. On June 17th at 8:00pm, surrounded by her family she peacefully departed this world.
