On April 6th 1940 in the quaint settlement of Bennett's Harbour Cat Island an only son was born to the proud parentage of Granville Bannister and Elizabeth Patience Rolle, both of whom predeceased. At a very young age his mother left Cat Island seeking employment. Harrison and his other siblings were left in the care of their older sister Rowena, who a short time later met and marrying the love of her life. Harrison and his other siblings were then sent to their mother in Rock Sound Eleuthera where they schooled. Being the only male at that time in the family he left school and started work on a mail boat for a short while, then left and worked at Maura's Lumber Company for a number of years, while there he was responsible for making sure his mom and siblings back in Eleuthera had the basic needs: food, clothing, shoes, and shelter. Harrison then began work at the Prince George Dock where his sight began to fail him. He stayed in Nassau for a few years until his sight left him completely.
On February 4th 1998 he purchased a ticket and went back to his birth home Cat Island where his eldest sister Rowena took him in and cared for him along with her daughter Emma and her children. On December 20th 2013 Harrison fell and fracture his hip while in Cat Island, his sister accompanied him on an emergency flight on December 22nd 2013 to seek medical assistance, not knowing that would be his last trip from Cat Island. In January 2014th he had surgery to his hip, when he was strong enough to be discharged from hospital his daughter Patricia who was instrumental in his care since he fell, saw to it that he was placed in The Good Samaritan Home where he would be cared for. Rowena stayed in Nassau a few months to care for her brother. On Saturday the 19th of April she went to visit and say good bye since she had planned on returning home the next day. Harrison was seriously ill; she along with her granddaughter Ashkuel and his daughter Patricia were persistent in him being taken to hospital for medical care. Again on Father's Day June 8th at 6:55am his niece Emma got a call in Cat Island from Mr. Capron, the owner of Good Samaritan home saying that Harrison had passed so he called the Police and a funeral home. Minutes later he went back and checked then he realized Harrison still had a pulse. At this point he called the ambulance, and requested that a family member meet Harrison at A&E. Ashkuel who had just arrived from Andros, immediately made her way to accident and emergency. Unfortunately upon arrival she was informed by medical personnel that Harrison was seriously ill, due to an infection that had spread throughout his body. Although Harrison was suffering excruciating pain, he fought like a true champion. It was during this time his heart failed him twice, yet he continued fighting and was resuscitated.
On Tuesday 17th December, 2014 sometime around 5:00am again that final call was made for Ashkuel to accompany Harrison to hospital along with her brother Anton, he was admitted to A&E where doctors tried to assist him, and to no avail his organs had failed. The Lord saw he had went through enough and deem it fit to take him home.
