A Time to Be Born:
On a beautiful August morning in 1932, in Abraham's Bay, Mayaguana, the cries of
a healthy baby boy rang out. He would be the first to bless the union of John and
Virginia Charlton, both of who predeceased him.
This baby boy would be named and cherished as Hubert Alexander. He grew to be
a happy energetic boy and at age five he commenced his early childhood education
at the Abraham's Bay All Age School.
On completion of his schooling in Mayaguana, he travelled to Nassau to seek
gainful employment. Hubert worked for a short while in Nassau and then moved
to Florida where he secured employment on 'The Contract" for several years.
In 1958, Hubert returned to Nassau where he worked as a stevedore or dock worker until he retired. He made
his marriage vows to Mrs. Elenora Pratt in 1962, and God has blessed them with forty-five (45) faithful and
loving years together.
A Time to Die:
On the 24th of February, 2013 Hubert was admitted to hospital after becoming very ill. His condition worsened
and on March 24th, 2013 one month later he was called home to his eternal reward.
May His soul rest in peace!
