On September 14th, 1934, Ruben Gutherie and Birdie Morris welcomed their daughter Joycelyn Morris into the family. Joycelyn and her siblings lived in Mount Olivet, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica.

At the age of 18, Joycelyn moved to Kingston , Jamaica, where she worked as a domestic helper.

A few years later she met her first love, Fredrick Budham an experienced and skilled carpenter. This union was blessed with four children: Pauline, Cyrene , Delroy and Devon.

Joycelyn was a quiet, unassuming , loving, helpful, kind and peaceful person. Cyrene ,her daughter, was very appreciative to have Joycelyn living with her. Joycelyn was always willing to assist with chores whenever she was able. Elviann, Julyette, and Julyen, her grandchildren, were the joy of her life and she was very proud of their achievements.

After the death of Fredrick Budham in 2007, Joycelyn was diagnosed with diabetes . She was constantly sick, so she moved to Nassau in October 2007 to live with her daughter Cyrene.

In February of 2014, Joycelyn's health began to deteriorate and in the quiet morning of July 27th,2015 she slipped away.

Joycelyn is predeceased by her companion of over 25 years Fredrick Budham, daughter: Pauline Budham, Son: Devon Budham, brother: Daniel Tappin, and Son-in-law:Elvin Pinder.
