Obituary

Whatever words could be used to describe Lenora "Nora" Eunice Marie
Burrows-Roberts- 'boring' would not be one of them.

Lenora was born on Wednesday July 31st 1968 to Leonard and Linda nee
Farquharson- Burrows. She was their first beautiful daughter. Lenora was
second in line to a handsome older brother, Lorenzo and a big sister to another
beautiful Burrows daughter, Laverne.
Lenora was welcomed into the Anglican Faith four weeks after birth by the
late Venerable Archdeacon William E. Thompson and was presented to God
by Godparents Richard Munroe(deceased), Violet Pratt (deceased) and Jeslyn
Mackey.
Lenora's journey in education commenced at the age of three at Clarkes
Kindergarten. She subsequently attended Cathedral Grammar School, now St.
John's College, where she graduated from high school in 1986.
With a spirit to nurture and to serve, Lenora enrolled at the College of The Bahamas in pursuit of an Associate of
Arts Degree in Nursing. A few months later, she decided this was not her future and therefore, pursued and soon
thereafter acquired gainful employment with The Bahamas Government on February 22nd 1988 at The Ministry of
Public Works.
She was a fantastic worker, not just recently but all her life. Some might say that she was a workaholic, but it was an
example of her enthusiasm for life. She never did anything by halves. This was clearly seen when she was transferred
to the Department of Public Health as she realized her love to serve through her daily interaction with the patients
during registration. And, again this was evident when she joined The Royal Bahamas Police Force staff as a civilian.
She thoroughly enjoyed her work whether she served in the Police Control Room, Prosecution and Warrants, The
Police College or the Traffic Division.
Lenora was a very active member of St. Agnes Junior Christian Youth Movement (CYM), Junior Choir and Girls
Brigades in her youthful days. She enjoyed the fellowship with her friends, L. Michelle Fox, Elaine Bunch, Dwight
Dorsette, Dwayne Dorsettte, Byron Miller, Renee Cartwright, Lisa Dames, Shanelle King-Brennen almost every
Friday evening and throughout her life.
Lenora was a very colourful character from way back then. If you could see her now- she is dressed exactly as you
see her in the photograph. She was always impeccably dressed: hands well-manicured, fingernails bearing the latest
nail-tech design; brightly coloured hair with every strand intact; well coloured lips; rosy cheeks; shaved eyebrows
