Louise Priscilla Archer was born on the island of Bimini in Alice Town on 1st November 1928 to the late Sanford and Marjorie Archer. She attended the All-Age school in Bimini until her family moved to reside permanently in Nassau in 1940. On moving to Nassau, Louise attended the Eastern Senior School, graduating in 1944.Her family became members of Wesley Methodist Church and she chose to attend St. John the Baptist Cathedral, where she became active in the various auxiliaries. She joined the senior choir and the Ebony Musical Association. In the later part of the sixties, when she located to other areas in Nassau, she became active in various other Baptist Churches. October 1975 she resided in her own home in Golden Gates Number 2 community. While talking with a friend she
was told about Golden Gates Native Baptist Church, and she became an active member in January 1976 where she has been actively involved ever since.
During her tenure at Golden Gates, she became a member of the senior choir, was director of the children's choir, a Sunday school teacher, Pulpit aid member, GA and Act-teens Leader and a member of the Social Committee. She also attended classes at the Jean Street Campus, was a member of the Women's Missionary Circle and Union, a member of the United Society Choir and recently became involved with the United Baptist Choir. Sister Archer has been the director of the Senior
Choir at Golden Gates for over ten (10) years and served as janitress of the church for many years having recently retired.
In late March Mother complained of feeling ill. She attended doctor after doctor, was hospitalized for a while then discharged.
April 14 she was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital diagnosed with blockage to stomach which made her very painful and uncomfortable. Mother suffered a lot of pain and discomfort and a cure was not to be. April 23 at 5:00am she bid this earthly world goodbye and went to be with her heavenly father. It was Sister Archer's ultimate goal in her
remaining time here on earth to continue serving her God, her church, family and friends until she heard "Well Done, Thou Good and Faithful Servant".
