Obituary

It was on a Saturday, December 17th, 1921 in the quaint settlement of Lovely Bay, Acklins, when a bouncing beautiful girl was born to the proud parents of the late Reckville and Superial Beneby. They named her Luella, affectionately known as "Lu".
Luella relocated to the settlement of Morant Bay at a very young age with her late mother, and received her education at the Pompey Bay All Age School.
She was the proud mother of one child Verline.
After migrating to New Providence she was employed as a domestic worker, and later met the love of her life, the late Collison Ingraham, and they were joined in holy matrimony.
Luella was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. she was also a faithful member of St. John's Native Baptist Cathedral, where she worshipped until her health deteriorated. She loved her church family and her Pastor, particularly the late Rev. Dr. O.A. Pratt, and was active in the Women's Prayer Band and Missionary.
In late Novemeber 2011, Luella fell and broke her hip and was no longer mobile to take care of herself. Her sister, the late Lovetha Rolle and her niece, Clarice, ensured that she was taken care of. Among other things, they sought the necessary services and items that she required, including a wheel chair. Every day or every other day Lovetha would take breakfast or lunch for her and check to see how she was doing.
While Lu was being cared for by her late sister, Lovetha, who had her own health challenges, the master called her home on July 25th, 2013. hat being said, her niece, Clarice, took her mother's place, and continued to care for her aunt along with her cousin, Sybil and caregiver, Mertis.
After the passing of her sister, Lu said, " Vetta gone and I'm the only one left now, so I might as well go home too". A few weeks after saying this, Lu refused to eat and was subsequently admitted to hospital on September 3rd 2013, where she remained until her demise.
On Saturday, May 3rd, 2014 (her late sister's birthday - Lovetha) at 6:20 a.m., Luella quietly slipped away to meet her Heavenly Father.
