Obituary

Marcella Lolita Musgrove, the third child of Gladstone Kirk Musgrove and Marguerite Clarke-Musgrove was born on the island of New Providence on Thursday, October 8, 1964. Marcella was the baby and the apple of her father's eye, there was nothing that he would not do for her.

EDUCATION

During her sojourn on earth, Marcella attended the Mable Walker Primary School, Queens College, St. John's College and lastly transferred to Prince Williams High School under the watchful eye of her cousin and Pastor, The Rev. Dr. C. W. Saunders.

CHURCH

Marcella was christened at and grew up in the Salem Union Baptist Church where, at a young age, she made a public confession of her faith in Jesus Christ, after which she was baptized into the membership of the Church and became an active member of the Youth Choir under the directorship of Sis. Patricia Bazard, as well as Salem's Youth Society under the leadership of Minister Gregory Bethel.

LIFE

Marcella enjoyed life. She always took time out to pamper herself and Alison by spending weekends at various hotels on the Cable Beach strip. She would never stay in a hotel if it did not have a balcony, a nice restaurant and/or room service. When her room service order was delivered to her room, she would feel like a Queen. She also enjoyed her trips to Florida during the Summer months to ensure that Alison was adequately prepared for school and to give her some international exposure.

She was immaculate at all times. Her clothing was well prepared and colour coordinated. If she had money for nothing else, she ensured that her hair was well-groomed at all times. And if you did not comment on how it looked, she would ask, "Don't you like my hair?"

It must be pointed out that Marcella was an extremely outspoken person. Whatever was on her mind, she shared with no regard as to how one felt. If she liked you, you knew and if she disliked you, you also knew. She was genuine in her expressions and possessed a heart of gold. Marcella was fearless and faced life's challenges courageously and with dogged determination.

Marcella loved her family and after the death of her sister, Diane, she and Julian, whom she affectionately called, "spoonhead" became very close. She endured that they remained I
n constant contact. Her love for her household was unquestionably deep as she lovingly cared for Ali and her only child Alison.

DEATH

On Sunday, 6th June, 2010, Marcella was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital by Ali and was admitted. The following day, Monday, June 7, 2010, during her final moments, her cousin Jacqueline (Jackie) Clarke sang, prayed and read the 23rd Psalm to her. At approximately 6:30p.m. she slipped into eternal rest.

Marcella was predeceased by her parents, Gladstone Kirk Musgrove and Marguerite Clarke Musgrove and her sister Dianna Christine Musgrove.
