Obituary

On the 5th November, 1932 in the settlement of Long Bay Cays, on the island of South Andros, a beautiful baby girl was born to the proud parents of Lillian Flowers-Rolle and Duane Duncombe. They named her Merle-Winifred. She was the last of seven children born to Lillian Flowers Rolle. At the age of four months, the doctor told Mother Nemore's mother to lie her down under a tree to die as she had a hole in her heart. Again, at the age of fourteen, Mother had sever typhoid fever and lost the ability to walk. As a result, they measured her up to build her coffin as they were sure she was about to die. It seemed that the devil was out to destroy her from an early age.

A TIME TO LEARN
Mother Merl Nemore received her early childhood education at the Long Bay Cays, all aged school, South Andros. Later on in her early twenties took up hand craft design and she was gifted with making scafts, dolls and cloakes through crocheting.

A TIME TO WORK
At the age of nineteen, mother Nemore moved to Nassau, to work at the White Gate Restaurant, West Bay Street in the pantry section. Shortly after, she became employed at the Nassau Beach Hotel and later a house keeper for Dr. Stuart at Lyford Cay. After this she became self employed as a shop keeper in Nassau and Andros working for herself.

A TIME TO SHARE/LOVE
Mother Nemore met with and fell in love with Eugene Nemore. In 1950, they got married. This union produced one son Derek Eugene Nemore who recently predeceased his parents on 6th February 2014. Shortly after Derek's birth, mother and Eugene Nemore-Brown were legally separated and remained as such for the past fifty-three years.

A TIME TO SERVE GOD
The separation drew mother closer to God. She became an evangelist for Christ and remained as such to the day of her death. Mother was a member of the Church of God in Long Bay Cays, South Andros. Upon relocating to Nassau, she later became a member of the Lively Stone Church of God, Knowles Drive. She loved her pastor and church family beyond measure. Despite her health conditions she attended church as much as she could and remained active up to the time of her demise. At Andros, mother preached under the leadership of Reverend Alvin Burrows for many years. After her elder sister became ill, in 2005, mother relocated back to Nassau to take care of her dear sister.

A TIME TO ENJOY LIFE
Mother was always an easy going, kind, loving, and affectionate, but no nonsense person. She loved her family and was very much family oriented. She loved doing 'skits' at her church and she did a skit of the "Great Judgment Day" in January of this year. Her skit was well received. Mother led a telephone ministry and would daily discuss the word of God with her close friends and family.

A TIME TO DIE
On Wednesday 4th June 2014, during the early evening, Mother Nemore must have realized that her time was at hand. She asked her nephew Paul Emmanuel Jones the question "what is man that though art mindful of him?" They sat and discussed what all she did for the day. She was in high spirits. This was when mother was suddenly taken with pain in
the lower stomach. She rushed to the bathroom to throw up. Afterwards, she lied down and began to spit a lot. She was then given some tea by her nephew and she started to belch. After her nephew left to catch some rest after 1:30am, she told Frenny who was present, "thank you for all you did for me and God Bless you because "Im travelling now."
She said, "Bye Bye Frenny go and get some sleep." Notwithstanding, Frenny watch over her until morning when her nephew and two nieces Baby and Patsy arrived. She told Baby Jones to pray for her like she never prayed before. She was taken to the Princess Margrett Hospital, Accident and Emergency Section by ambulance. While waiting to see the
doctor around 11:00 am mother Nemore made her final cough and went off to meet her Lord and King.
