The most beautiful flower bloomed in the month of March on the 3rd day in the year 1960 and unveiled a precious baby girl born to Reverend Hubert and Remilda Moss (deceased).
Realizing that education was important, Naomi's parents encouraged her to strive for excellence and to reach for the stars. Naomi began her early education at The Lovely Bay All-Age School where she was successful in completing her high school education.
After which, she met and married Mr. Gladstone Thurston and their union was blessed with three wonderful boys: Stanley, Patrick and Earl Thurston.
As the scripture says, "Study to show thyself approved", Naomi sought to upgrade herself by attending several learning intuitions including: The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institution where she studied Office Procedure. She also attended numerous evening institutions where she increased her knowledge in Mathematics, Language Arts and Fashion design. Her hobbies included singing, playing the piano, and cooking.
Naomi gave her life to the Lord at a tender age and was committed to the Lord so much so that when she travelled to Nassau she never strayed. Naomi attended Divine Deliverance Baptist Church, where she was a faithful and devoted member.
Naomi was an industrious and ambitious woman who believed that hard work pays off. She was gainfully employed at The Department of Social Services, where she was a dedicated and hard worker up to the time of her death.
On Friday, 19th December 2014 at noon, Naomi was in the company of her brother Pastor Jacob Moss. As they were worshipping and praying, she told him that she was going to die, but she did not mind because she was going to Heaven. Because Naomi appeared to be well, Jacob did not pay any attention to what she had said.
This beautiful flower wilted and was called home to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of Saturday, 20th December 2014. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, a compassionate sibling, a wonderful friend and a dedicated worker.
The radiance of this "Opal of a Gem" will always glow in the hearts of loved ones and friends
