On August 3rd on the beautiful Island of New Providence in the Bahamas an Anthem went out with it's a girl. They named her Natalie Louise born to the parents of David (Bulla) Jones and Alma Harrison later Jones, both deceased. Natalie spent the first five years of her life on East Street near Goal Alley and Infant View Road. In 1935 after her parents wedding, she moved to Fox Creek on the Eastern Road and later that same year she moved to Johnson Road where she remained until her death.
Natalia attended Sandilands All Age School where she received her early Education; then on to Eastern Senior where she graduated.
She worked as a Domestic worker for a number of years. During this time she met and married Fred Brooks Ferguson (deceased), which between them both had five children.
Natalie was brilliant Bible scholar who could quote any verse or scripture from the Bible. She was a self-taught Bible historian who studied each book of the bible; when they were written and the History of the place where most of the books was written in. She loved her God dearly and always quoted " I would not dare die without him ". Just before she died she was asked if God was good? Her last remarks were, " O yeah". She was a woman who believed that no one should go to bed hungry, she would cook and feed them and even empty her cupboard to make sure that everyone that she came in contact with and needed something to eat, had it. She was a very generous woman who would give her last, even the clothes off her back. She lived the Golden Rule; Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
During the beginning of 2013 her health began to deteriorate. She was hospitalized in May and on Saturday, October 5th at 9 p.m., she slipped away from your earthly paradise.
