Obituary

In the early morning of November 29th, 1934 ,a baby girl was born to the proud parents of Augusta and Elgin Hebpurn of Long Bay Cays, Andros. She was an only child and they named her Olga. She was raised and schooled in the Long Bay Cays area until relocating to Nassau, where she completed her education.

Olga was employed with Mademoiselle as a Seamstress and later went on to work with the West Berry before being transferred to Rentokil Pest Control a subsidiary company; where she remained until retirement.

Olga's first experience of a mother's love was giving birth to a baby girl, whom she named Rose because she was precious in her eyes. In 1960 she was chosen to give birth to her son Tony Sears but she was heartbroken when he was called to heaven in 2001. In 1979 she met, courted and married Evelyn Oscar Greaves.

Olga did not believe in being idle, so she harnessed her love for sewing and kept at it until she became an even more talented Seamstress. She was always busy, from cooking, to gardening, to cleaning and taking care of her darling husband, she never had a dull moment. She had so many rich memories that she would share them with her family. Stories of her days in the machine shop making 15 girls dresses a day and "boast" about how fast

she was on the machine. After retirement and sewing at home she tried to pass on her love for sewing to her next generation. She taught her great-granddaughters Tameka and Tamara. Derricka was one of her protégés and would regularly come by to assist with hemming and stitching.

In addition to her rich home life, Olga served in the kingdom of God on earth and was a faithful parishioner at St. Anne's church. She was passionate about family and therefore was actively involved in the lives of her daughter, grandchildren, great-grand and extended family. She never missed birthdays, graduations, holidays, or any other opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments.

She was unstoppable in her activities and independence until her eyesight began to fail but she continued to enjoy her favorite pastime of history to her family. She was described as a loving, caring and sympathetic woman and in her later years a tad bit headstrong and still independent.

Olga "OO" peacefully passed on to Glory on Monday, April 27, 2015 upon arrival to hospital at the age of Eighty (80). Olga was predeceased by her parents: Elgin and Augusta Hepburn, son: Tony Sears and grand-daughter: Latonya Hanna.

May Her Soul Rest In Peace.
