"To everything, there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven. A time to be born, and a time to die"Eccl. 3:1-1
Sarah Deleveaux-Rahming, Dadda as she was affectionately known, was born in Miami Florida on September 16th, 1925 to Jestina Ferguson (deceased). As a child her mother migrated from the United States of America to the lovely island of Mayaguana, where she and little Sarah settled. Sarah's early education began at Mayaguana-Abrahams Bay All Age School, excelling in many of her academics.
When Sarah entered adulthood, she took a job at Patrick's Air-Force base located on Mayaguana. This employment gave her the boost she needed to become an army officer, and so she enlisted.
After the base closed, and following her discharge she travelled to Nassau to seek employment. She was employed as a Housekeeper to the late Duke Hanna until her retirement. Sarah lived a wonderful life. Sarah was married but this union did not last very long. Sarah never had any children of her own but the Lord opened her heart to adopt a little girl named Althemeise whom she adored. Nothing gave her more happiness than spending time with her grandchildren and serenading them with her accordion.
In the early morning of Saturday 6th October Sarah slipped into an everlasting sleep. She is survived by her adopted daughter Althemeise Johnson, 6 grandchildren: Richard Simms and his wife Olga, Kranston Simms, Nicholas Simms, Elaine Hanna and her husband Ervin, Tameka Cleare and Deandra Johnson, 8 Great grandchildren: Bryson, Nia, Christen, Aliyah, Rashad, Delon, Diamond and Aaron. Numerous relatives and friends including Agnes Deleveaux, Helen Fritz, Ruth Smith, Dorothy Mortimer of Miami Florida, Harriet Davis, Sylvia Arnold, Terry Davis, Gloria Pritchard, Charity Carey, Rafelita Johnson and Lucinda Ferguson.
May her soul rest in peace.
