OBITUARY
"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
A TIME TO BE BORN
April 7, 1956 was a very happy day for the proud parents, Harold and Thelma Demeritte (both deceased). Their bundle of joy was born, their second child, who later was given the name Shirleymae Demeritte, and was affectionately called :Mae". At the tender age of three she was take to Andros to live with her Aunt Omelia Marshall (deceased).
A TIME TO BE EDUCATED AND EMPLOYED
She received her education at the Red Bays all age school in Red Bays, North Andros, Bahamas. She was self employed doing straw work.
A TIME TO LOVE
Shirleymae Demeritte met Clarence Colebrooke; it was love at first sight. On August 30, 1980 they were joined together in Holy Matrimony.
Shirleymae loved to serve and worship God. She dedicated her life to the Lord in 1992. She loved going to church where she was a faithful member. Mrs. Colebrooke participated in various organizations within her church; the Womens Prayer Band Ministry, the Church Choir at New Salem Baptist Church. She was always telling us that only God is keeping us alive and we must put God first in everything we do.
A TIME TO DIE
December 19, 2013 we took mom to Nassau to the Doctor. It was then that we realized that her heart was getting weak. From that day Mom's health began to fail her. In January, 2014 Mom was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital. She spent five days in hospital and was discharged in February 2014. She got admitted again. This time she would spend 3 1/2 weeks. On March 6, she was discharged. She was talking with us and seemed to be doing well, telling us to trust God.
Monday March 10, Lashara came and took mom for the day. It was a day full of laughter and fun. Later that evening after finishing her meal, I took the plate from her and asked her if she was alright. Mom told me, " Iam alright. God has already healed me. I am OK." I left the room and about 10minutes later my cousin, Leann, called me and told me "to come check Mae". When I went to check her there was no pulse nor heartbeat. My Mom had slipped away from Time to Eternity. Our hearts are aching with our love for our Mom, Aunt, Cousin, Friend, Sister and Wife.
