The Lord is righteous in all His ways and holy in all His works. Psalm 145:17
Born on July 7, 1965 on the beautiful Island of New Providence, Simone Fred Paul, affectionately called "Si" to close family and "Mon" to his close friends was the first child born to Fred Leon and Gweneth Editha (nee Newman) Paul. Simone was a very affectionate, fun loving and headstrong child.
Simone's education was obtained at St. Thomas Moore, S C McPherson and finally at the A F Adderley High School. After completing his high school education Simone always a hardworking and industrious young man found work with one of the hotels on Paradise Island, Aquapure, and Majestic Tour Company until he left to pursue self-employment. Simone could always be found performing cleaning, minor house repairs and painting for family members, neighbors and friends.
While many could attest that Simone could be very difficult at times, (being hard headed and strong willed) it could also be said that Simone was kind hearted and would give the Stranger the shirt of his back. His Aunt Maggie fondly remembers the time when she did not have gas for her car or any money to purchase the much needed gas. She still to this day don't know how Simone knew her dilemma, but recalls how he quietly came to her and said "here, (giving her $20) but some gas in your car."
During the last two years, Simone experienced more than his share of many health challenges that took him several times to the Doctors office and more than a few times to be admitted into the Princess Margaret Hospital. During the past months, he suffered a major stroke that severally affected his right side and left him unable to walk or talk. In his last months, Simone had a team of caring and loving family members, neighbors and dedicated medical personnel who went beyond the call of duty to ensure that his final days were comfortable.
On Wednesday, 20 May 2015 around 7:30pm in the evening, his Aunt Maggie recalls that after praying with and for Simone (and with confidence in the faithful of God; that he will awake in the first resurrection); he sighed and peacefully fell asleep in Jesus. Si will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him; especially around dinner time!
FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS!
