On June 16th, 1959, Marina Princess Thompson gave birth to her first and only child. She named her Tanya Geneice. Tanya was the prize of her family, being nurtured by everyone in the family. She stayed particularly close to her twin aunts, Paulette and Pauline. They took much pride in her. Often they could be seen walking her to school. Whenever opportunity presented itself, she would sneak out of school behind them causing them to have to return with her.
Upon completion of high school, Tanya worked at the reservations desk of the Harbour Moon Hotel. Later she worked as a Clerk in the then Alexis Shoe Store. Realizing her love for children, she pursued and completed her higher education in Early Childhood Education in 1995. She tested her skills at Summit Academy. She later opened her own nursery and preschool, LaPetite Nursery and Preschool, which she operated until her demise.
December 13th, 1989 brought a new sunshine to her life as she gave birth to her son, Bernard Andrew. Asking to be blessed with a daughter, she received that bundle of joy on July 9th, 1997. She named her Antwyna Bernisha. These two children were her precious prizes.
Realizing her love for her Lord, she was baptized and actively involved in Ministry at the New Providence Seven Day Adventist Church.
Earlier this year, Tanya's health began to fail. Her twin aunts were again her daily guardians, caring and nurturing her. On the morning of Wednesday, June 3rd, 2015, Tanya answered Jesus' call to come home.
